The Dorothy J. Carson Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship for San Jose State Valley Foundation School of Nursing students.
This scholarship is an annual scholarship to include fees, books, equipment, and uniforms up to a maximum dollar amount as determined by the Donor. Up to two (2) Scholarships per year will be awarded to qualified students.

Student should be matriculating full-time, have a minimum 3.5 GPA, and be a declared nursing major and a demonstrated financial need. The recipient agrees to work no more than 20 (twenty) hours per week during the academic year. Special consideration will be given to those students that have served in the Military or have family members that are Veterans or active duty.
Students will be nominated and selected by a committee of no fewer than 3 persons selected by the Director of The Valley Foundation School of Nursing or her/his representative, and interviewed by the Donor and/or 1 or more representatives of the Donor’s family. A student may receive the scholarship more than once, and preference will be given to continuing recipients.
